My Doctor's Visit

I wasn't feeling well today when I went to see my intestinal doctor at the clinic.  Which is in a hospital.  Skip and I were walking down the hallway.  We had gotten behind some people who were moving, like death warmed over.  Okay, the lady was in a wheel chair.  I had no problem with that.  It was the person that was pushing her.  It was almost, as if people were suppose to move out of his way, because his wife is in a wheel chair.  I wanted to go around them, because I wasn't feeling very well, my strides were short, I couldn't get around them due to the traffic from the opposite direction, coming down the hallway.  To top it off, these people smelled.  They were very rancid..  They turned same way I had to go.  But, I finally had an opening where I could get around them.  Also, the way they were moving, it appeared they were going straight to another office.  No, it was the same place.  I got in line, Skip behind me.  The guy said to Skip, something about they were here first, and, Skip cut them off.  Skip, said, no he didn't.  Also, told the man, go ahead, go ahead of us.  I am thinking, OMG, I don't feel good, and these people are making me sick to my stomach.  I wanted to tell them that so bad, almost did, but, I had to sit down.  The man told Skip he was rude.  Best part, his wife in the wheel chair, said to her husband, "No, you're the one. being rude".   As I was sitting down, a woman followed behind me, who was there with her mother at the counter.  She said she had to move, because they stunk so bad. "We know!!!"  It didn't take long before the odor permeated the whole clinic.  Thank heavens, I was called right away to the examining room.

Please don't get me wrong.  I understand those who have to be in a wheel chair.  But some, make it a real point of it.  Any time I was moving slow due to surgery, or crutches,  I would tell people to go ahead of me, because I was slow, or whatever.  I have seen many in wheel chairs, who do the same.  But some think you owe them because they are in a wheel chair.  In this case it was the person pushing the wheel chair with the attitude.  Its almost as if, they're using this as an attention getter.  I have seen this activity many times.  A woman in a walker, was doing all she could to make noise from it, and watching to see if any one was watching her.  Another woman, she was using a walker, when no one was watching, she would actually pick it up and walk till some one see her.  Immediately put it down, and use it.   See what I mean here?

The odor issue.
I think we all know the answer to that.  Use some soap and water. I understand they may not have much money.  Find a way to get some soap.  I can remember times, we didn't have a lot of money, when we had kids.  But we kept ourselves clean, even if I had to buy the cheap and not as good of soap or detergent.

I often wonder, what the doctors and nurses do, with people like this.  Do they make a suggestion to them to bathe, or what?
