I wrote this July 26th 1993. As many know there was a flood at that time in the Midwest. Flash floods were as many as 5 times a day, every day. The rains wouldn't stop. Right now the entire Midwest is not affected by the flooding from Montana, Man Made Flooding. Today as I looked at the Missouri River, it is finally catching up with us here in Central Missouri. My heart goes out to those in Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota. The Fear has already happen to them. Then there are those who are waiting for their fear, and know its coming.
THE SUN
The Sun shines so brilliantly on our land for this brief moment.
The Rays are as pure as the clear water that runs through a stream.
The Rays have been long needed. How long will we keep this beauty. The long needed warmth and light. This beautiful moment has been limited. Our land hungers for it, but the gray steamy clouds covers its beauty, then continues to rain. Sometimes, we complain we don't get enough rain and to much sun, this the time we forget about the beautiful sight it provides for us. The grass turns green and the leaves on the trees as well. The energy that it provides for us, is a great feeling. The vibrant color the light provides for us is so marvelous. The beautiful ball of fire that is so untouchable, touches and kisses our faces with its warm rays, hugs us with its arms of energy, has been missed. Maybe Man, has upset this beautiful source. So, therefore, we are being punished?!?! Can we say we're sorry for complaining, not realizing what you do------- give us. We're sorry!! Forgive Us!! Please let us have our Land and Life back, before you take take any more than you have.
So many have cried into the rushing water of the Mighty Mississippi and the Muddy Missouri. This is by the thousands, isn't this enough? Everywhere a person goes you see tears in the eyes who have lost. Fears in the faces who are waiting and wondering, when is it their turn. Yes, we are saddened by your constant absence. We long for you to stay with us. Won't you please come out, let our children enjoy your life, put some hope and reassurance in our hearts.

Midwest Floods of July 1993
Time this was written we had about six (6) weeks of storms. Several flash floods a day, had hit the Midwest at that time. The State of Iowa was the worst hit, then St. Louis, Mo. The time I had written this, there were 30 deaths so far, from the flood.
